PARENT TEACHER STUDENT ASSOCIATION
What you need to know
The CCCK-8 PTSA Mission:
- foster communication between the home and the school
- provide opportunities for parents to play a part in their child’s education
- enhance the educational atmosphere and experience at CCCK-8
The PTSA does this by partnering with the CCC K-8 staff to organize parent classroom volunteers, sponsor assemblies, underwrite field trips, develop after-school programs, coordinate teacher appreciation activities, lead community events, and raise funds to make our school the best it can be.
Join PTSA: If you do nothing else for the PTSA, please at least join. Your membership dues allows us to pay for assemblies, in-class enrichment, field trip buses, technology needs and events. In general it helps us do what we do.
Classroom and PTSA Volunteers: Volunteer Spot (now called SignUp) is the online sign up service that we use for classroom volunteers and parties, events volunteers, parent teacher conferences and school/PTSA needs. We use it for everything! You will receive emails from this site. Please always look at the email and if you cannot volunteer or donate an item just click “No Thanks” and we will not send you another email about that specific event. You will receive a monthly email for available spots for Kindergarten Classroom Volunteer opening and needs. If you have any questions about Volunteer Spot/SignUp please contact the PTSA Volunteer Coordinator.
Kindergarten Room Parent. The Room Parent collects funds and sets up classroom parties. The scheduled parties for kindergarten will be Halloween, winter, Valentine and Graduation. Some time at the beginning of the year you will receive a letter asking for a voluntary donation for the class party fund. The room parent uses the money collected to buy crafts that the kids do at the various parties throughout the year. The room parent will also send you a Volunteer spot sign up for donations of food for the parties.
Kindergarten Enrichment Fund; This is a fund that the PTSA has set up for Families to make a donation for Outreach programs ( like the Butterfly Pavilion and Denver Zoo) to come to the school . A letter asking for donations will sent home at some point during the beginning of the school year. The money collected can only be used for the kindergarten class, so the more money collected the more Outreach programs that can be set up. It costs about $150 per outreach program.
Three For Me is a program in which each parent commits to volunteering at least three hours over the course of the school year to support school initiatives. Please sign a commitment card today! Educational research has concluded that when parents are involved students have:
