We are bringing this training program to CCC K-8 due to how it works to reduce bullying and stop violence in many other schools.  It is an expensive program, so we would appreciate any and all donations to help cover the costs.
Send donations to: CCC K-8, 11719 Ranch Elsie Rd., Golden, CO 80403. Check payable to CCC PTSA (Rachel’s Challenge in the memo line, please)

Classroom Membership Challenge

LEADERBOARD UPDATE: Kindergarten is in the lead with 4th grade a few percentage points behind.  Don’t forget to become a member so your child’s classroom can win!!

Join the CCCK-8 PTSA and your child’s classroom could win an activity of their choice: Board (Games) at School, Escape Room Challenge or Video Game Competition!  The classroom with the highest percentage of memberships by Sept 29 will win!  Each child who has at least one member join on their behalf counts as one.  Teachers count as two for their homeroom classroom!  Members count for each of their students’ grades.  Your membership makes it possible for us to support classroom enrichment and fund the anti-bullying program we are hosting in September.  As a member, you also have a voice in how we prioritize what we are working on and how we spend our funds in a year.  For more information, contact Tami Lawson,  We appreciate your support!

Please help with a BIG Fundraising Goal

For the past year, we have been trying to fundraise for a supplemental reading program that is really important for the students who are struggling with reading early in their education.  We already have the “Leveled Literacy Intervention” program for K – 2 grades.  Now we are trying to purchase the next level so the students that are still struggling with reading after 2nd grade can continue to benefit from the program.  It is a BIG ask, but we think it is really important for the students that need it.  Ms. Little has started a Donors Choose campaign:  Please go online and donate as much as you can.  Then forward to friends, family and businesses that you think would help support this important effort.

Reflections Support

Do you love to be creative?  Do you want to inspire our students to make their own creative original works?  National PTA annually sponsors the Reflections program to do just that.  This year, the theme is:

Students are encouraged to create their own original work inspired by this theme, and then submit it for competition.  Categories of submission are: Dance Choreography, Film Production, Literature, Music Composition, Photography, or Visual Arts.  Ms. Norris has agreed to run the after school workshop and promote the opportunity.  Working with her, you would organize collecting the submissions, and setting up the judges and evaluation, and sending our school’s winning pieces on to the next level competitions.  For more information and deadlines, please visit the Jeffco website:  This volunteer opportunity is very short term (active in the fall) and for those energized by creativity.  Please contact Jody Dickson,, if you are interested.

Business SponsorsDo you own or work at a business that would like to advertise to our school community?  If so, consider becoming a CCCK-8 Business Sponsor.  By supporting our school, you are supporting the community that supports your business.  We have some significant fundraising goals for this year, but we have different levels of sponsorship and one of them will fit your business’ needs.  For more for information, please visit our website:

Classroom ParentsWe still need Classroom Parents for the following grades.  These people are responsible for organizing classroom parties and being the liason for the teacher to the PTSA and parent community.   If you are able to serve in this role, please contact Jody Dickson,

  • 5th Grade
  • 6th Grade
  • 7th/8th Grade

Secretary: We have one critical open position for our board this year.  The secretary is responsible for taking and preparing meeting notes from our monthly PTSA meetings.  This role is not a huge time commitment, so it is ideal for someone who wants to know what is going on at the school or who likes to write or document decisions, or (optionally) who is interested in developing some project management skills.  Our first meeting is September 18th.    If you are interested in this opportunity, please contact Jody Dickson,, x3568.

Stay tuned on our website or on our Facebook page for more information on upcoming programs. If you have any questions, comments, suggestions, concerns, please feel free to contact me.
